Physical fitness is important to our health and well-being, but working out and going to the gym can be intimidating. That may be especially true if you have a physical or social disability.
Nina Romano, director of Because We Can Fitness and fitness trainer, joined News All Day on “Wellness Monday” to speak about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Romano says that it’s important people, no matter their abilities, to stay active.
She recommends people to look for gyms that have friendly faces and promote self-empowerment. She also says the gym should have an open space with equipment.
If you’re not comfortable going to a gym or can’t afford to train, Romano suggests buying some simple, inexpensive workout equipment online.
