BERLIN – Class UFC Gym has opened a Berlin location, and renovations and equipment will be established in a few months, said Heather Dufresne, the district manager.
The gym took over Tapout Fitness and is currently an active studio.
The gym offers boxing and high-intensity interval classes, Dufresne said. She said the gym’s workout equipment will “take your training to a whole new level.”
“We have a Focusmaster G-1000,” Dufresne said. “It is the ultimate striking machine for boxing, kickboxing, martial arts and fitness training.”
According to Dufresne, the machine creates “hundreds of mind-blowing, heart-pumping and muscle-building combinations.”
The gym has lock-in training accessories, including its Coil Spring Arm, Torso Pad, Extender Bar and Clapper Target, she said. Dufresne said the gym will have cardio equipment, turf, sleds and battle ropes.
Dufresne said the gym has a location in Southington, and she plans to open more studios “as they grow.”
The gym has received hundreds of inquiries from individuals and families to open a facility in Berlin, Dufresne said.
“We offer kids boxing and HIIT classes as well for ages five and up,” she said. “We’ve attended many local events, and the excitement of having a UFC Gym locally is huge.”
According to Dufresne, boxing is the studio’s most popular class.
“It allows you to have a challenging, fun workout as well as the ability to take some stress out on our equipment,” she said. “It makes your workout fly by, all while learning to box at the same time.”
Dufresne said the gym provides various mixed martial arts and personal training.
“We loved the idea of kicking it up a notch from your typical gym and showing people how to train like UFC fighters, but for all fitness levels,” she said. “The offerings of classes, private coaching, recovery, nutrition, MMA and virtual classes give you everything you need to achieve your health and fitness goals.”
The gym offers training for people with different goals and fitness levels, Dufresne said.
“We’re building a fitness community here where like-minded members cheer you on and where the staff all know you by their first name and will be calling you if we don’t see you at the gym,” she said.
Dufresne said the gym supports its customer’s fitness journeys and aspirations.
“Unlike other gyms that just take your money and don’t care if you are actually using the facility, we are invested in your goals,” she said. “We want to be the last gym you ever have to join.”
